What is this calculator?

This calculator turns your daily water habit into weekly, yearly and lifetime totals. Enter how much you drink each day, your age and the lifespan you expect, and it shows the volume already behind you and the amount still ahead. It is a simple way to picture a number that is normally invisible because it arrives one glass at a time.

How does it work?

Your daily intake is multiplied by seven for a week and by 365.25 for a year. The lifetime figure multiplies the yearly amount by your expected lifespan, and the remaining figure uses the years left between your current age and that lifespan. Gallons are converted at 3.785 litres each.

Frequently asked questions

How much water should I drink a day?+

Common guidance is around two litres, or eight glasses, but body size, climate and activity all shift the figure. Food and other drinks contribute too.

Does tea and coffee count?+

In real hydration terms yes, but this calculator only counts what you enter, so add other drinks yourself if you want the full picture.

Why 365.25 days in a year?+

It accounts for leap years, which keeps long lifetime totals from drifting by several days' worth of water.

Can I use gallons?+

Yes. Switch the unit and enter your daily intake in US gallons; every result is shown in the same unit.

Is the lifetime total realistic?+

It assumes today's habit holds for your whole life. Intake usually varies year to year, so treat it as a well-scaled estimate.
