What is this calculator?

A trim every few weeks barely registers, but repeated for decades it becomes hundreds of appointments and a small fortune in chair time. This calculator turns how often you cut your hair each year into the haircuts behind you, the ones still to come and the full lifetime count.

How does it work?

Your haircuts per year are multiplied by your current age for the total so far, and by the years remaining before your expected lifespan for the ones ahead. Adding the two gives the lifetime figure.

Frequently asked questions

How many haircuts a year is typical?+

Many people land between 6 and 12 a year, roughly one every four to eight weeks. Shorter styles usually need more.

Does trimming at home count?+

Yes. Count every cut that keeps your hair in shape, whether it happens in a salon or over a bathroom sink.

Why does lifespan matter?+

The remaining figure uses the years between your current age and your expected lifespan, so a longer estimate means more haircuts ahead.

Does hair loss change the result?+

It can. If you expect to cut less often later in life, lower the yearly figure to see a more conservative total.

Is the lifetime number exact?+

No. It is a projection of your current haircut rate across your whole life, not a record of past appointments.
