What is this calculator?
Playlists rarely show their true length in a way you can picture. This calculator turns a song count and an average track length into total minutes, hours and days of listening, works out how many songs you get through in an hour, and estimates when you would finish at your daily listening pace.
How does it work?
The song count is multiplied by the average track length in minutes and seconds, or you can enter a known total duration instead. Dividing that total by your daily listening time gives the days needed, and sixty minutes divided by the track length gives songs per hour.

What is the average song length?+
Most modern pop tracks run around three minutes and fifteen seconds, though older rock and dance tracks are often much longer.
I already know my playlist length. Can I use it?+
Yes. Switch the input mode to total duration and enter the minutes your music app shows.
Does it account for skipping tracks?+
No. It assumes you listen to every song all the way through, so skipping will finish you sooner.
What are listening hours per day?+
The hours you actually spend playing the playlist each day, whether that's a commute, a workout or a work shift.
